Life long resident of Alpharetta since 1949, grew up in downtown.
Graduated from Milton in 1967, BS in Business Management from Kennesaw State you University and graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science. Served in U. S. Army in 1971-1972.
Member of First United Methodist Church, Alpharetta Rotary Club, Alpharetta Masonic Lodge #235, Alpharetta American Legion, and serve on the Historic Perseveration Committee for the City of Alpharetta.
Owner/Founder of Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Crabapple. Married to Olivia Thompson Grizzle since 1974, two daughters and four grandchildren.

Kathi began her career with Alpharetta in 1991 and has served many positions in the City including Land Disturbance Inspector and Environmental Programs Manager. She oversaw the planning, zoning and permitting for Avalon, City Center, the Downtown Master Plan and most recently the North Point LCI and associated North Point Eco District code. She was a guest speaker for the American Planning Association National Conference in New Orleans last year regarding mixed use developments in suburban cities.
Kathi currently lives in downtown Alpharetta within walking distance to her office.
Matthew A. Thomas is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Alpharetta. In this role he is responsible for the City's business retention, expansion, and attraction programs.
From 2013 to 2018, he led Economic Development for the City of Canton. Matthew also gained economic development experience with the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, the Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
He graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2011 with a B.S. in Economics. Matthew is a member of the International Economic Development Council, the Georgia Economic Developers Association, a recent graduate of Leadership North Fulton, and in 2018, was named a University of West Georgia "Thriving Under 30" Honoree.
