Curtis is a graduate of Texas A&M University in 1994 with a B.S. and M.S. in computer science.
In early 2007 Curtis was one of several leaders who established the Blue Ocean Group, which acquired a small training company called Improving Enterprises and adopted the Improving name in 2007. Since then, Improving has been recognized by the Inc 500/5000 as one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States for 9 consecutive years. Furthermore, the company has received more than 30 recognitions as one of the best place work in the US by Inc Magazine, Columbus Business First, Texas Monthly, and the Minneapolis Business Journal. In addition, Curtis was a founding member of the North Texas Chapter of YPO in 2003 and also a member of the Columbus Chapter since 2015. In 2007 Curtis was honored by the Department of Computer Science as a CSE Distinguished Former Student and later in 2013 he received the inaugural Outstanding Early Professional Achievement Alumni Honor Award from the Dwight Look College of Engineering.
Shane Jackson is president of Jackson Healthcare, a family of 17 companies and 1,300 associates specializing in temporary and permanent healthcare staffing. Since taking the role in 2013, Jackson has consistently led the nearly $1 billion private enterprise to more than double the industry’s annual growth rate. He is a primary guiding force for Jackson Healthcare’s mission of improving the delivery of patient care and the lives of everyone it touches. Jackson champions the company’s community impact program, LoveLifts, which supports access to healthcare and the wellbeing of disadvantaged children. In 2016, Jackson spearheaded the launch of a non-profit venture within the Jackson Healthcare family. Connecting Kids with Care™ connects volunteer doctors and nurses to thousands of global orphans with free, tech-enabled healthcare.
Jackson is an advocate for the power of business leaders as a positive force for people and the community. He speaks and writes on the topic, and has authored a book, “Fostering Culture,” on intentionally nurturing a values-led culture.
He attends the Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit and spearheaded the effort for Jackson Healthcare as a Founding Sponsor of Conscious Capitalism’s Atlanta Chapter.
Jackson’s current non-profit board commitments focus on education and access to healthcare, including Junior Achievement of Atlanta, the Goodman Institute and serving as Vice Chair of the Health & Wellness Policy Committee for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He is Vice Chairman of the state’s leader-led goBeyondProfit business initiative that promotes the belief that giving back is good for business and good for Georgia. Jackson earned a M.B.A. from Emory University, and a B.B.A from Harding University. He and his wife reside in Alpharetta, Georgia, with their three children.
